"Pumped out my pond filter and then added Algae Klear Xtra and also Pond Clear weekly for the last 5 weeks. There is some improvement to the algae but it has not worked as well as I hoped it might. The stones are still covered, which is a bit disappointing, but the plants are not as covered with green strands as they used to be, which is a good result. The water has been very clear throughout. Not quite sure what to do next. Might give it another 5 week dose, but it's now getting a bit costly. Envii have been very helpful throughout in giving advice but I'm beginning to think that algae are quite difficult to clear."

"This worked very well to clear an overgrowth of algae that plagued my pond this spring. what can I use if I have snails in my pond: Hi Jackie, A more natural approach would be to target the food source for the algae, which is typically sludge. At the bottom of most ponds is a layer of sludge, made up of decaying leaves, twigs, fish waste and fish food. As this organic matter begins to break down, it releases nutrients into the water that feed algae and green water. By breaking down this sludge using a product such as Sludge Klear, you remove the food source for the algae and in turn, it begins to starve and die. This is a much slower process than using an algaecide such as Algae Klear Xtra, but it is a more natural approach and is safe for all wildlife including snails. Many thanks, Envii
I have a small wildlife pond in my garden (circa 300l) with a thriving population of smooth newts. It's recently been getting lots of thick gloomy string algae growth though.
