Why is it important to monitor the water parameters?

It is important to monitor water parameters to ensure the water quality is safe and healthy for all fish & wildlife living in & around your pond. Arguably, the most important parameter to monitor closely is the pH. Ideally, the pH should be between 7.5-8.5. High acidity or alkalinity can increase the toxicity of ammonia in your pond which is very harmful to fish & wildlife.

What are the ideal water parameters for ponds?

pH levels should be around 7.5-8.5.

KH levels should be kept around 6-10 dKH.

GH levels should be kept around 3-15 DH.

If any of the above parameters are outside of these readings, we recommend using Pond Equaliser.

Nitrite levels should be as low as possible but anything around 0.5ppm is fine.

If Nitrite readings are out, we recommend using Filter Feed.

Nitrate levels should be as low as possible but anything up to 25ppm is fine.

If Nitrate readings are out, we recommend using Nitrate Klear.
