What is Septic Klear?

This weeks featured product is Septic Klear.
Septic Klear tablets are a unique mixture of fast-acting, task-specific bacteria with added nutrients for septic tank treatment and cleaning. Septic Klear is an effective way of maintaining a septic tanks performance whilst reducing the need to have your septic tank emptied. When used correctly and regularly, Septic Klear can eliminate the need to ever have your septic tank emptied again.

How Does Septic Klear Work?

Each Septic Klear tablet contains 75 billion task-specific bacteria that have been chosen specifically to digest and break down the organic matter that builds up in septic tanks between pump outs. Once flushed down the toilet, the bacteria come out of their “dormant” phase and break down any organic matter in the septic tank. Once the bacteria have broken down the matter, the enzymes found in the tablets digest it completely to lower the number of solids in your tank. Furthermore, if used regularly, Septic Klear will reduce smells coming from the septic tank, improve septic tank performance and reduce the need to have the septic tank emptied.

Don’t Just Take Our Word for It…

Alan West – Worked a treat within hours!!!

Linda B – These are very effective and easy to use

Janet – Bought these as the septic tank was being a bit whiffy from time to time. Haven’t detected any odours since using these and they are simple to use.

What Is a Septic Tank?

Septic tanks are part of a septic sewage system are in isolated areas that are not connected to sewage lines. Or in areas that have soil that is suitable to absorb the drainage. Houses that have septic tanks tend to have them located at the bottom of the garden. It is estimated that around 513,000 homes in the UK have Septic Tanks. That’s just over 2% of all UK homes. Read our blog on Septic Tanks for more information.

How Does a Septic Tank Work?

Usually located underground, it’s a large plastic/concrete tank that is connected to your drainage system and collects the waste. When the waste enters the tank, it is held long enough for the solids to sink and to the bottom and form sludge. All whilst the oils and grease float to the top to form scum. The wastewater that has now been separated from the solids and oils exits the tank into the drain field. Once the water is in the drain field it percolates through the soil and rocks which act as a filter to remove any harmful bacteria, nutrients or viruses.

Why Is My Septic Tank Backing Up?

There are a few reasons why your septic tank could be backing up. Check your drain field, if the grass around there looks soaked or boggy, it could be a sign that your drain field is too shallow and is being overloaded. If this is dry, it could be that your septic tank is full and needs emptying, this can be costly.

Use Septic Klear as a tank treatment throughout the year. This will keep the aerobic bacteria levels high and enable them to digest the organic matter found in the tank which will reduce the amount your tank needs emptying.

Cost of Emptying a Septic Tank?

It is recommended that your septic tank is emptied every twelve months. However, with the use of Septic Klear you can extend this much further. As it helps to digest the organic matter and reduce the level in your tank. If you do need to empty your septic tank it usually costs around £100-£200.

Why Does My Septic Tank Smell?

Smells coming up from your septic tank can not only be a nuisance but sometimes dangerous. The anaerobic digestion process that takes place creates methane, hydrogen sulfide and other gases. This is what you can smell. Septic tanks should be well ventilated so if you can smell your septic tank inside your home, it could be a sign that something is wrong.

The most common cause for these smells is the lack of bacteria. If you use bleach, toilet blocks or cleaners in your toilet they kill off the good bacteria in your septic tank which leads to the organic waste building up and increasing smells. To conclude, using Septic Klear will increase the number of bacteria inside your tank. This will reduce the amount of organic waste which in turn will reduce the smells. If your tank continues to smell it may be because it needs emptying.
