Allgrow 2024 Plant Trials
Test Results
We conducted growth trials to evaluate the effectiveness of our new liquid multipurpose plant food, Allgrow. Broad beans were chosen for this experiment to test and compare the performance of Allgrow against a competitor product and untreated plants.
What is fertiliser and why is it useful?
Plant fertiliser provides essential nutrients to plants, enhancing their growth and productivity. It supplies key elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are crucial for various processes such as photosynthesis, root development, and disease resistance.
Plants require a balanced intake of these nutrients along with trace elements like magnesium, calcium, and sulphur to thrive.
While peat-free compost is a great environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional peat-based compost, it often lacks an abundance of readily available nutrients necessary for optimal plant health. Therefore, incorporating high-quality fertilisers alongside peat-free compost can ensure plants receive all the nutrients they need for robust growth and resilience against diseases.

Methods
The trials were conducted in an unheated polytunnel, measuring overall plant size and bean harvests across three treatment groups: Envii Allgrow, a competitor fertiliser, and untreated controls. Plants were grown in a commercially available peat-free compost which contained no additional slow-release feeds.
Treatments
The effectiveness of Envii Allgrow in enhancing plant performance was tested alongside a best-selling competitor product and an untreated sample to provide a comparative analysis of the effects. A comparison of treatments is shown below.

Measurements
Overall Plant Size:
The growth of the broad beans was monitored weekly by measuring the length of all branches on each plant. The overall size of plants was calculated by summing the lengths of all branches for each of the three replicate plants in each treatment group.
Bean Harvest:
The yield was assessed by harvesting the broad beans, counting the number of pods, and weighing them. The total weight and pod count for each treatment were combined across the three replicate plants. Beans were harvested once pods were full and the beans inside were firm.
Results & Discussion
In the trial, Allgrow-treated plants consistently outperformed both the competitor and untreated plants in terms of bean yield and overall size. The beans harvested from Allgrow-treated plants were significantly heavier and more plentiful compared to those from the competitor and untreated plants.
Visually, Allgrow-treated plants exhibited healthier green foliage and sturdier growth, contrasting with the spindly appearance and paler foliage of untreated plants. While beans were still produced on untreated plants, they were noticeably smaller in size and quantity. Despite all plants being treated the same from the beginning of the testing and receiving the same amount of feed at the same intervals, Allgrow-treated plants began producing harvestable beans earlier than both untreated and competitor-treated plants and showed visible effects of feeding were seen in less than 2 weeks.
These results highlight the substantial benefit of using Allgrow in promoting superior crop production and overall plant health compared to alternative treatments.Within 2 weeks of starting a weekly feeding regime, plants fed with allgrow were 6% larger than those treated with the competitor’s product.
Allgrow plants began producing beans, two weeks earlier than the untreated plants.
Within 2 weeks of starting a weekly feeding regime, plants fed with allgrow were 6% larger than those treated with the competitor’s product.
Within 2 weeks of starting a weekly feeding regime, plants fed with allgrow were 49% larger than untreated plants.
Petunia Testing
Alongside the bean trials, we also tested the size and flower production of petunias fed with Allgrow versus those given only tap water. The results indicated that petunias treated with Allgrow were far superior in both the number of flowers and overall plant size.
Conclusion
In summary, the trial results showed that Allgrow significantly improves plant growth, yielding healthier plants and greater harvests compared to competitor fertilisers and untreated plants.
